Loneliness and Social Isolation
A 2020 study conducted by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, concluding that social isolation significantly increased a person’s risk of premature death from all causes, risks that may rival those of smoking, obesity, and physical inactivity, especially with older adults.
In this study loneliness and social isolation were associated with:
Increased risk of dementia
Increased risk of heart disease
Increased risk of stroke
More expensive to live at home with a caregiver than in a community
There is no need to be susceptible to serious health conditions when you can THRIVE in a community that provides a social and loving environment.
